Solstice Expands Into the Jacksonville Dental Market

Florida dental and vision insurer Solstice Benefits announces its expansion into the Jacksonville market, offering competitive, comprehensive dental and vision plans to employer groups and individuals in the area.

As a leading dental and vision insurance provider with over 700,000 members around the country, Solstice’s expansion will add quality and affordable plan options within the Northeast Florid market.

Among employees, dental is the second most requested benefit after medical. Benefits are a top priority for job seekers and are therefore a boost to employee recruitment. Two-thirds of the American population get their dental benefits from employers.

A study found employers who offered dental benefits helped their organizations save money. By promoting routine cleanings, this gives employees the opportunity to stay on top of their oral health, increases productivity and brings down claims costs for the company. In Florida, Solstice offers group dental HMO (DHMO) and PPO plans and vision HMO and PPO options.

This expansion will bring increased network strength to the Northeast Florida market by offering 1,301 prepaid/dental HMO offices and 1,723 dental PPO plan offices, as well as an increased national and out-of-state network coverage. Solstice has one of the largest DHMO networks in the state of Florida and surpasses other carriers by offering the most access points in Nassau, Duval and Clay county.

Many health problems or diseases can start in or be exacerbated by ailments in the mouth. For example, people with gum disease have a 67% higher risk for heart disease, 22% higher risk for diabetes and a new study has also linked the disease as a cause for Alzheimer’s. Tooth decay is nearly 100% preventable with routine care.

Aside from offering group plans in the market, Solstice strives to make its dental plans easily accessible by offering enrollment for individual consumers. Available for purchase at any time during the year, visit Solstice’s website to learn more. Individual plans start at $12.08 a month.

“Having our start in South Florida, it’s only fitting that we expand our business North and bring our products and services to Jacksonville! We look forward to working with the many employer groups and individual consumers in the area to provide exceptional dental and vision benefits,” said Brian Correia, Solstice’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
